Billie Ruth Sudduth Honored

A solo exhibition and sale celebrating 25 years of basket making by Billie Ruth Sudduth will be held at the Toe River Arts Council Gallery in Spruce Pine, NC from August 23 through September 27, 2008. Titled 25 Years and 10,000 (almost) Baskets Later, works have been recreated from each of the 25 years of basket making to showcase how Billie Ruth's work has evolved from holding your objects to holding your interest.

Art Acquisition for NC Research Campus

The new North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis is one of a kind. Its creator, David H. Murdock, wants to fill its walls and floor space with one-of-a-kind art created by the best artists in North Carolina.

An art acquisition is being held on October 25, 2008.
All artists must be 18 years old or older and must reside in North Carolina
All work must be the original artwork of the artist.
These media are acceptable for entry: acrylics, water media, graphics, mixed media, oils, photography, pastels, handpulled prints, sculpture, ceramics, fiber, metals and glass.

John Skau Celebration

Bob Margolin Concert

Bob Margolin, Blues guitar player and vocalist, will preform at EastSquare Artworks in Salisbury NC on Thursday, August 14th at 8pm. Artist Opportunity

The North Carolina Arts Council has awarded a grant to Gates County High School to contract with an artist to create a permanent public artwork or art enhancement in the school facility or on campus as part of our SPARC (School/Public Art Collaboration Projects).

Attached is a call for artists (Request for Qualifications) for this project. Please share with any artists in your region. Artists working in all media including digital media will be considered.
