Greg and Carla Filippelli have been weaving baskets and sculpture for over 30 years. Their fluid forms are a result of an original weaving style called random weave. Each piece created has a variety of hand dyed reeds and wild vines, woven into many contemporary shapes and styles. Creating both functional and decorative baskets and sculptural weavings for the wall; the Filippellis delight in working with clients and galleries to create custom pieces for home, offices and sight specific spaces. Their work is exhibited nationwide in galleries, exhibitions and internationally in the Artist in Embassies Program. They currently hold workshops and classes in basketry and sculpture in area schools and also provide private lessons in their home studio nestled in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains around Asheville, NC
